Pretty practiced recipe. I altered some things based on the reviews. Used 3 Tbs brown sugar instead of ii Tbs white, used tomato plant sauce instead of ketchup, kosher table salt instead of table salt and served over wild and brown rice. I would as well mix up the ingredients prior to adding it to the meat.

Followed recipe exactly. Fantastic, fifty-fifty the kids came back for seconds. But you accept to serve over rice.

I have to admit I was sceptical nigh this recipe, merely decided information technology was quick. I am so glad I tried it! I made information technology with extra lean ground beefiness and doubled the sauce, and served with whole wheat screw pasta and salad. Everyone loved information technology and the all-time part was the fourth dimension it took to prepare. Definitely a keeper.

Awesome sloppy joe recipe. Will never buy another tin can or mix over again. I added a beef bouillon cube instead of salt, brown sugar instead of white, and threw all the ingrediants in the crockpot. I used cubed beef rather than ground beef. Information technology made an amazing sandwich. Try it, you won't exist disappointed.

YUM! Both my son and husband loved this i. I did some substitutions. Instead of white vinegar, I used rice vinegar. Didn't have fresh onion then I sprinkled nigh of one TBS of dry out minced onion. Also, per husbands trial tasting, I added ii TBS brownish sugar (he likes information technology sweet). Also, to thin it a touch, without watering the season down, I added well-nigh 1/three cup cherry-red blood-red grapefruit juice. I served this on egg noodles, will try rice next time. This would make excellent sloppy joes! Thanks for sharing this recipe.

This was the first recipe I made and reviewed when I joined All Recipes in 2003! I made this again recently and as I did before - I made the sauce first and let information technology sit, while I cooked the meat. I used 1 lb. of beef that was pre-cutting for stir-fry and served on crusty rolls (non pasta - this is the key!!). Information technology was fifty-fifty better now!! I beloved this recipe!!!!! Uncomplicated and succulent!!

04/sixteen/2006
Recipe was simple to make. The flavor reminded me of a sloppy joe with the ketchup and mustard base. It was likewise spicy-hot for my 8-year-onetime.

06/12/2007
Like Judy Thousand., we used a poor cut of meat. The sauce was quite tasty – enough that we'd effort this again w/ either basis meat or another cut of beef cubes. We did substitute Splenda in place of sugar. Instead of serving over pasta, nosotros selected mashed potatoes.

This recipe tasted slap-up! I didn't have any onions so I merely reconstituted onion flakes and then followed recipe every bit directed. I forgot to add the ketchup so the sauce evaporated speedily. I added 6 tablespoons of h2o. I similar the idea of doubling the sauce and I volition try that next time I make it. I served this over white rice and it was succulent.

This recipe is pretty practiced and piece of cake to make. Slap-up if y'all have leftover meat to apply. I added one-half tablespoon of dearest, half tablespoon of liquid smoke. I seasoned the meat with meat tenderizer, salt, pepper and GrillMates applewood rub. If you lot simmer information technology long enough, the meat gets really tasty from the sauce. I as well added minced garlic while cooking the onions. Definitely needed more than seasoning/flavors.
02/24/2002
I was put off by not having a specific cooking time only was glad it turned out okay. I fabricated it with stew meat and served it with white rice, my family liked information technology.

The sauce itself isn't bad. The best I can explain information technology is similar a spicy-tangy taste. I used pork cubes and steak, doubled the sauce with a footling less ketchup, and served it over egg noodles. Very quick and easy. It tasted better on the pork, and I was surprised I had all the ingrediants on-paw. Thanks
